In 2012, Robert and Nancy Komlofke and family launched a new scholarship endowment for Crook County High School athletes. Since that time, 16 students have been awarded funds that supported their higher educational goals. Since their original endowment has been invested at the Oregon Community Foundation, through the Crook County Foundation, it has increased in size even though annual scholarships have been awarded. In late 2019, they doubled the fund with another significant contribution which will allow the annual scholarships to be increased and overall the fund to support more students in the future.
The Komlofske family scholarship focuses on honoring graduating student athletes who has participated in major sports during most of their high school years and who are graduating with at least a 3.0 GPA. One scholarship will be awarded to a male student who has participated in and completed the season (unless injured) in Crook County High School football, wrestling, basketball, and/or baseball. The other scholarship will be awarded to a female student who participated in and completed the season (unless injured) in Crook County High School volleyball, basketball, and/or softball.

The Robert and Nancy Komlofske family scholarship, as well as the over 40 other scholarships that the Crook County Foundation administers, will be awarded in June at the Crook County High School Senior Awards Night. Our goal is to continue growing and supporting donors to assist our local youth to achieving their career dreams. That may mean attending a local community college, setting out across country to a university, completing online schooling while working, or finding a trade school that gives them on the job training. Regardless to the type of education, we have scholarships available that are made possible by our local community.
